The legend behind "pinakol" Rungus tribe.

Pinakol is a kind of handicraft from Kudat Rungus, North North Borneo. It is a craft beads in which there are about four motif representing a legend. Four patterns are:

1. Tiningulun, which means "man."
2. Inompuling, which means shield.
3. Tinugarang, which is highly poisonous animal mystical.
4. Vinusak, which means a flower antidote.

According to legend, once upon a time, there He was a hero called "Tiningulun," he was reverting carrying a shield called "Inompuling / Tinompuling." In Liwan dialect, there is an animal called "Tugarang," in Malay means "bengkarung," a dialect term Tinugarang in Liwan is also a verb meaning "to tugarang," refers to something that is transformed.
